If you take a tablet more than 3 hours late (i.e. more than 27 hours after taking the last tablet) or if you miss only one tablet, you no longer have contraceptive protection. Take the tablet as soon as you remember (even if this means taking two pills in short succession on the same day). Take all further tablets at the usual time. During the next 7 days you must use an additional barrier method for contraception.
Did you have sex in the week before you forgot to take the pill? If so, you could be pregnant. The more tablets you have forgotten the greater is the risk. Speak to your doctor.
If you vomit or have diarrhea 3 to 4 hours after taking the minipill this can also compromise the contraceptive action. In such cases you should proceed as though you had missed a minipill.
